ABOUT US

Reconnecting Generations, Reviving Our Identity

We stand united as proud Desnavis, bound not just by heritage but by heart. Our team is driven by a shared purpose — to bring people closer, to bridge distances between families, and to revive the spirit of togetherness that once defined our community. Whether near or far, we believe that every Desnavi holds a thread of the same fabric — woven with culture, values, and mutual respect.

We are actively working to gather relatives, reconnect generations, and strengthen bonds that time and distance may have stretched, but never broken. This is more than a network — it is a family. Through events, support initiatives, and collective memory, we are creating a living legacy of unity, identity, and belonging. Together, we are not just preserving our roots — we are growing stronger from them.

WHAT WE DO

"A Legacy That Plays On – Honouring Syed Mumtaz Hassan"

🌟 Mumtaz Hassan – A Salute to the Visionary

Every year, Desna Association proudly celebrates its Annual Sports Day — a tradition made possible because of the inspiring legacy of Syed Mumtaz Hassan. His vision, dedication, and love for community development live on in every event we organize and every match we play.

"The Ground We Stand On – Empowered by Syed Shabeebul Hasan"

We are deeply thankful to Syed Shabeebul Hasan, son of Syed Mumtaz Hassan, whose generous support has provided us with the very ground where our Sports Day comes to life. Because of him, we are able to conduct multiple games and activities for all age groups, promoting unity and sportsmanship.

Honoring the Legacy: Desna’s Pride, Our Guiding Light

Syed Sulaiman Nadwi (1884–1953) was one of the most revered Islamic scholars, historians, and literary figures of the Indian subcontinent. Born in Desna, Bihar, he emerged as a powerful intellectual force who devoted his life to the preservation and presentation of Islamic history, culture, and literature, especially in the Urdu language.

A close student and companion of the legendary Shibli Nomani, Syed Nadwi carried forward his teacher’s mission with unmatched dedication. He completed and expanded upon Shibli’s famous work, “Seerat-un-Nabi”, making it a timeless masterpiece in the field of Prophetic biography.

Syed Sulaiman Nadwi’s personality was marked by deep humility, intellectual brilliance, and spiritual depth. He believed in bridging classical Islamic thought with modern needs, and through his works, he successfully revived a sense of pride in Muslim heritage among the youth of his time.

His famous book, “Khutbat-e-Madras” (Lectures of Madras), delivered at Madras University, reflects not only his scholarly depth but also his commitment to interfaith harmony and respectful dialogue.

After the creation of Pakistan, he migrated and continued his scholarly contributions until his death in Karachi in 1953. His legacy lives on through his writings, students, and the intellectual movements he inspired.

HOW IT WORK

Step by step working process

Our step-by-step process ensures meaningful change: identifying community needs, designing tailored programs, implementing sustainable solutions.

Step 3: Resource Collection (if needed)

Only when needed, we ask for donations or material support in a soft, respectful manner — based on what the program requires.

Step 1: Identifying a Community Need

We observe, listen, or receive suggestions about areas where help is needed — education, youth development, social support, or events.

Step 4: Sharing & Reporting

We share pictures, outcomes, and appreciation posts on our platforms to maintain transparency and inspire others

Step 2: Planning the Initiative

We hold internal discussions and design a program, event, or project with clear goals (e.g. Sports Day, Award Ceremony, Educational Support).
